Dana is a Registered Psychotherapist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor who has been working in the field for over ten years. Since obtaining her Master’s in Educational Counselling from the University of Ottawa, she has worked as a counsellor for university students, supervised psychotherapists in training, established new mental health programming in the post-secondary sector, and provided individual psychotherapy in private practice.
Dana specializes in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, procrastination and avoidance, stress management, self-esteem and confidence, and emotional regulation. She strongly believes in the power of neurotherapy to manage emotions and regulate brain and nervous system functioning, and is trained to administer traditional single-channel Neurofeedback, High Performance Neurofeedback (HPN), Neurostimulation, and Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback.
Dana employs a client-centred approach that integrates a range of therapeutic orientations and techniques, including CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and compassion-focused therapy. Her psychotherapeutic work relies on building a warm and open alliance through which clients may investigate their emotional responses, beliefs about themselves and others, personal histories and relational patterns.
Dana’s services are covered under most insurance plans, under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Presniak.
