Sharon is a Clinical, Health, Rehabilitation & Counselling Psychologist. She is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and L’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. She offers a full range of psychological services including Psychodiagnostic Assessments and Psychotherapy Treatments including Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindful Self Compassion and Psychological Well-Being Skills (MSC) as well as Trauma Therapy.
Sharon is passionate about the growing field of neuroscience, particularly neuroplasticity, the vital mind-body connection and Neurofeedback. Sharon has completed trainings in Neurofeedback in Clinical Practice in the United States and Canada, including Quantitative EEG (QEEG) Brain Mapping Assessments, QEEG Analysis, Single Channel Neurofeedback, LoRETA Z-Score Neurofeedback, and Complexities of Neurofeedback in Developmental Trauma. Sharon has a special interest in utilizing Neurofeedback Treatment and Mindfulness Interventions in treating mental health challenges including PTSD, Present Day Trauma, Developmental Trauma, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Grief, Concussion, Closed Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Chronic Illness, and Peak Performance. In addition, Sharon completed the Foundations of Mindfulness Teacher’s Practicum at The Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic, and is trained to be a Teacher in Mindfulness Interventions. She is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Levels 1 & 2, as an on-site Trauma Responder with expertise in facilitating CISM Interventions for small and large groups.
Sharon uses an integrated approach when working with her clients in healing and transforming emotional wounds as well as building resiliency and psychological flexibility. She collaborates with her clients to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals. Sharon has expertise in helping professionals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression or burn-out including Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and Dentists. Additionally, she has gained an expertise working with Military Members, Veterans, and Front Line Workers. Her earlier career as a Registered Nurse underlies her expertise with mental health challenges, as well as her therapeutic skills of compassion, validation and mindful presence.
